Life Imitating Art?

Well, by now you have heard the big news...

I am thrilled and think this is fantastic!!! Isn't he just the most gorgeous little thing?? I am equally as thrilled to hear that she is dumping her LOSER husband and going forward as a single mom. Way to go, Sandra.

Considering her recent Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side, it's sort of like life imitating art. Well, it's not like she adopted a teenager. But still, you can't help but think that her role in that movie might have had some kind of profound influence on her choosing transracial adoption. I *might* be biased but I think it's a beautiful thing.

In the PEOPLE article coming out soon, she says, "It's like he's always been a part of our lives." I totally know what you mean, Sandra...

  1. Geez, I've looked at that photo probably half a dozen times already today and I cry every time! I'm so excited for her cause I've just always liked her, I'm excited cause I can see the joy it brings to her face, I'm thrilled to have such a great public example of what being open to domestic adoption and open on race can do. I do love that she kept it so private for three months to allow them to bond as a family - can't believe she pulled it off! Such a bummer that the loser husband thing coincides with the timing of it all - but so glad she is able to focus on such a wonderful thing in her life. I read that she's keeping most of the details private, as she should, but I'm still excited to read the story. Way to go Sandra!

I, too, think it is a beautiful thing!

And the thought that she was impacted by her role in The Blind Side to adopt also crossed my mind...

  6. I feel really bad about the Sandra Bullock's husband. It annoys me that they can't keep it together.

The baby is beautiful (as is yours)!

  8. I was so devastated to hear that they got the baby in January, she wins an Oscar and then everything crumbles.

However, I am SO SUPER happy she is leaving him and adopting as a single mother - she will be awesome!!!
