Life Imitating Art?

Well, by now you have heard the big news...

I am thrilled and think this is fantastic!!! Isn't he just the most gorgeous little thing?? I am equally as thrilled to hear that she is dumping her LOSER husband and going forward as a single mom. Way to go, Sandra.

Considering her recent Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side, it's sort of like life imitating art. Well, it's not like she adopted a teenager. But still, you can't help but think that her role in that movie might have had some kind of profound influence on her choosing transracial adoption. I *might* be biased but I think it's a beautiful thing.

In the PEOPLE article coming out soon, she says, "It's like he's always been a part of our lives." I totally know what you mean, Sandra...

  1. Geez, I've looked at that photo probably half a dozen times already today and I cry every time! I'm so excited for her cause I've just always liked her, I'm excited cause I can see the joy it brings to her face, I'm thrilled to have such a great public example of what being open to domestic adoption and open on race can do. I do love that she kept it so private for three months to allow them to bond as a family - can't believe she pulled it off! Such a bummer that the loser husband thing coincides with the timing of it all - but so glad she is able to focus on such a wonderful thing in her life. I read that she's keeping most of the details private, as she should, but I'm still excited to read the story. Way to go Sandra!

  2. That baby is amazingly beautiful...I just love children in general and I think your son is just adorable and I am so glad people are wonderful enough to adopt a child simply becuase it is a child!

  3. is it weird that I thought of you as soon as I saw this?

I, too, think it is a beautiful thing!

And the thought that she was impacted by her role in The Blind Side to adopt also crossed my mind...

I can't get over how joyful she looks!

  4. I'm still blown away by the fact that she managed to keep that secret for *three* months! I love this piece of celebrity gossip.

  5. Finally some good news from Hollywood :)

  6. I feel really bad about the Sandra Bullock's husband. It annoys me that they can't keep it together.

The baby is beautiful (as is yours)!

  7. I hadn't seen this yet! Neat!

Thanks so much for checking out my blog. I'm new to this and just think it's so fun to get a comment!

I went to St. Mary's University in Winona, MN. LOVED it there! Now I'm in sunny SC!

  8. I was so devastated to hear that they got the baby in January, she wins an Oscar and then everything crumbles.

However, I am SO SUPER happy she is leaving him and adopting as a single mother - she will be awesome!!!

  9. He is one handsome baby! And how awesome is Sandra?!

  10. It is an amazing, beautiful thing. Such a beautiful little boy.

  11. This is a real feel good post. I'm so happy for the two of them. thanks for sharing.
