Your Husband is Hiding Something From You

I was desperate. It was one of those rare 80-degrees-in-April kind of days here in Minnesota recently and that presented a crisis of ghastly proportions.

I wanted to wear capris. But wearing said short pants would show parts of my pasty white legs that have not seen the light of day since last September.

But that's not the worst part.

The worst part is the hot mess that is created when you don't have to/need to/want to shave your legs for days/weeks/months at a time.

I needed to shave. Seems simple enough, right?? But then I looked around for a razor. Generally I use something like this: Schick Quattro for Women High Performance Razor

But I could not find any extra blades ANYWHERE. Then I looked for a crappy disposable one. NOTHING. But I was desperate here, people. The word forest comes to mind and I'm not even kidding. I thought nothin' was getting through it...

[TMI? Yeah. I think so, too. Sorry about that.]

So, I did what anyone else in my situation would do. Steal. Borrow.

My hubby (who we joke has a 5 o'clock shadow by 9 a.m.) uses these beauties with FIVE blades: Gillette Fusion Manual Razor

I give it a try. And let me just say this: Shaving with this thing is like getting licked by friggin' kittens.

*sigh*

I feel almost betrayed. Like my husband has been keeping this huge secret from me all this time. Why didn't he tell me about the five blades from heaven???

I'm never, ever, ever, never, ever going back to using women's razors again.

So ladies, raid your husband's toiletries and start shaving. Those replacement cartidges are not cheap....but it's so very worth it.

Happy Spring, legs!

  3. It's so true - boys' "delicate" faces get pampered with 14 blades while we make to with a single, jagged and rusty blade. Torture. Thanks for sharing the revelation with the world!

  5. LOL! this made me laugh and laugh hard. I have a conspiracy theory on women's razors and their shitty blades or at least the kind I have been using for years. I will spare you the details of this awesome theory but I swear they are out to get us! Anyway, a couple months ago I finally concluded that it must be true and got fed up with it. I decided that I was going to use a guys razor from now on.....the twist was that I had just invested heavily in stock for replacement blades for mine DOH! So im still painfully trying to use those up. Does that reveal the fact that I don't shave all that often either? yeah....im with ya on that one girl. But anyway, as soon as im done with these suckers for girls im moving on to the real deal. Five blade kitty lickin good!

  6. yes, they cut close, but you have to watch out they can cut way to close and give you a nice pair of hacked up legs!

  7. My dad told me that a long time ago when I kept cutting my legs. Mens razors are the way to go!

Ahhh, the weather! I still won't wear shorts yet, although I won't get tan unless I do :-(

  8. Men's razors are definitely the way to go! I hav used a Mach 3 for years (at least 5 years). They are wonderful... and about the not having shaved in awhile thing. I went 3 weeks awhile back and it was an awful sight!

  9. Just this morning I had a very similar situation. Do you know how stressful it is to stand in the tub and shave your legs in a pair of boxers while your son empties every. single. drawer.??? I do. Stressful!

  10. My husband shaves his head. He has about 95 different implements to accomplish the shaving of his head and face. Things that vibrate. Things that have anywhere from three to five blades. A strange shaped one called a head blade. I just stay out of that mess. I have the TrimStyle (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1913092/product_review_schick_quattro_for_women.html?cat=69) It's good stuff!

  11. When I was in high school back in ND, ankle length jeans were in style. Many a morning, I just shaved up to where my jeans stopped. Also? I have been using men's razors for years. They are awesome!

  12. Too funny.
Lucky my leg hairs are blonde and don't show much. So I delay shaving till they wave in the sunlight.
I've often thought if I had electrolysis when I was a teen how many hours of shaving time would I have saved by now?
