Two Quick Stories

Okay, one more quick wedding story...

I once had a bride who was missing her front teeth. So during pictures she had "fake teeth". She would pop in her fake teeth, smile perrrrdy for a few pictures and then proceed to ........ wait for it ........ spit her fake teeth into her hands. I will never get the image of this bride standing with her fake teeth in her hands out of my brain. So gross. I can't make this stuff up. I really wanted to slip the words "cosmetic dentistry" into a conversation with her but somehow I could just never finagle it in there :-)

Now for a quick story about the fresh hell that is happening in our house...

Last night we listened to Miles toss and turn in his crib for an hour and a half (this is after 30 minutes of crying and stalling before going to bed). Then, when he started yelling for me after being in there for 90 minutes, I went in to hear this come out of his mouth: "All done sleeping, mama." He decided that he was done and wanted out of the crib. *Oh my holy god awful WTF is this hell* And this is NOT an isolated incident. I don't even want to talk about naps. Our once easy sleeper is suddenly easy no more. Kill me now.

  1. WHHHHHAAAAAAAAAT. Oh hell now, if my kids do this, oy, I don't even know what I'll do!

Has he a had a sleep study: sounds like little man has some serious insomnia.

And the teeth story-- that's disgusting. And, yet, gives me hope. If she found a man, surely I can too ;)

  2. The sleeping situation is TOUGH. Kids needs sleep and they fight it. Silly children.

  3. Patrick's been waking randomly around midnight lately. Just screaming out then his is back out. I on the other hand couldn't sleep, so just ship the boy over and we'll stay up and play together! Hang in there, no sleep plays nasty tricks on your mind, emotions and other relationships!

  4. Minh went through a similar phase with being 'all done with sleep' but thankfully it passed. I will send you positive vibes!

I have a terrible image of a bride spitting her teeth out. Nuff said :(

  5. LMAO! I just omitted my 4 year olds nap....and he was an insane crazy person last night. I put his butt to bed at 6:30! I thought I was gonna lose it last night and today I'm feeling exhausted from the fight. Blah!! I feel ya.

I am not saying anything about Sarah and her nap/bedtime because if I say something it will jinx it.

  7. Argh, sleep. :( I love the idea of "all done sleeping". Um... good luck with that one, kiddo. I've learned to super-appreciate when we have a spell of good sleep, since they never last for long. Good luck getting back on track.
    And the bride? Gross. GROSS!

  8. What the hell? Is this some kind of conspiracy? No one told me sleeping got worse at age 2. Aiden did almost the exact same thing last night...and was then up for good at 4:30. Ugh.

  9. Yep...must be going around daycare. We are going through the same thing. Sigh..... We are trying to get him down a 1/2 hr. earlier per Sharon's advice. We will see how that goes.

  10. Oh, please don't tell me this... we've never really had good sleep (as in we can't even go one week without middle of the night wake-ups and/or rising and shining before 5). I can't handle this post.

I'm going to get a glass of wine now.
